– Minister of Environment Assures Speedy Completion.
As the second phase of the Ogoni cleanup commences and the official handover of 39 new remediation lots to contractors by the Hon. Minister of Environment Mohammed Abdullahi takes effect, The Executive Chairman of Eleme LGA Council Chief Hon. Obarilomate Ollor has assured the Hon. Minister of the LGA Council’s support throughout the project.
Chief Ollor gave the assurance when the Minister of Environment and the Governing Council of the Hydro Carbon Pollution Remediation Projects (Hyprep) paid a working visit to HRH Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi to officially handover 39 new remediation lots to contractors as part of the second phase of the Ogoni cleanup project.
On his part, the Hon. Minister, Hon. Abdullahi while handing over the project to the various contracting firms charged them to ensure effective delivery of the assigned task within the period specified in the contractual agreement as everything has been made available by the government to ensure the smooth take-off and completion of the project in the best interest of the people.
Earlier, HRH Chief G.M.B Okpabi the Oneh Eta Ogale XI and Oneh Nchia X encouraged the contractors to be people-oriented by ensuring the Ogale Community feels the impact of the project in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as he assured of the readiness of the people to provide the enabling environment for the smooth undertaking of the project.
